Saturday Tango Social, offers a Class, a Practica and a Matinee milonga

About the Saturday Social

The Saturday Social consists of tuition, a short practica followed by our weekly Matinee Milonga. You are welcome to attend the entire programme or any part of the afternoon.

Our Saturday Tango Socials started as a weekly Practica in 2005. Over the years the Saturday Practica has been a popular and an important social tango event in Glasgow. In September 2017 we expanded the Saturday Social to include a traditional milonga.

At the Matinee Milonga music is classic tango, milonga and vals, mostly from the mid 1920s to the late 1940s with some exeptions. The music is played in tandas with cortinas. The venue has a nice floor for dancing, a good sound system and cabeceo friendly lighting.

Resident DJ is Jeff Allan. Occasionally we may have guest DJs.

- We encourage the use of mirada and cabeceo for the invitation to dance.
- Keep a good dance flow and apply floor-crafy skills to increase everyones      enjoyment of dancing.
- No practicing or helping out during the milonga please; the practica is for     this purpose.
